Has anyone done permanent laser hair removal treatment? I have been thinking of doing this, especially on some vit areas where two hair colours grow. However I have researched and apparently it actually destroys the hair follicles.
My concern is that if the treatment destroys the hair follicle, will vitiligo treatment ever be successful on those areas? As I've heard that some treatments more successful where hair grows?
Please share your experiences :)

Yes it is true, treatments generally need a reservoir of melanocytes (pigment producing cells), mature or not, and the hair follicle is the main reservoir of it, so don't destroy it if u want to try a treatment ... i've heard of people having success to repigment areas with no hair follicle but it's very very rare, and colored hair and hair follicle still able to work are good prognosis signs for treatments and repigmentation. hope this helps
Or does anyone know if this is true - that we need the hair follicile for successful repigment? ( this is why areas without hair like hands can be harder to treat?)
