  • It's hard to answer this definitively having had vit for so long now. My present situation is the result of countless decisions and variables which may have all been different without vit.

My guess is the one thing that would be immensely different is my outlook on dating. My Vit held me back in high school and beyond despite obvious opportunities. This lead to further predictable psychological and social side effects.

The thing is if I had felt about my vit back then the way I do now I may have been strong enough to overcome it because it was pretty mild in its scope. But since then its gotten progressively worse and keeps spreading even now.

Moral of the story is my life would be a lot better without V.
    • SAME here am passing trough ur child hood it sucks! well im college now but it sucks when people stare at the gym!!
      • Miguel, vit or not ur totally HOT! :)
        Ur certainly NOT Ugly!!!!!
  • Before having vitiligo i had pride, and honestly speaking i had no time for other people. but now with vitiligo i lost 50% of my self esteem, and i have learn't to look at things from better perspective, i am patient, and am so keen to other people's skin in that whenever am passing by some one i make sure i look at u to see whether u have vitiligo or any deformity. u know i do not intend it but i find myself doing it. Vitiligo has made me a better person.
  • Before I had vit I dealt with race discrimination. There were always a few co-workers that would let me know about being hispanic. I did stand my ground and still became a journeyman. No doubt having white spots changed a few things in my life but no one ever stopped me from going out in public having a nice dinner, spending time at cars shows or going to the movies.

Vit does not control my life. I fall and get right back up, stand my ground and live life with integrity, honor and love.
    • I would probably get out and do a lot more things and be far more sociable. I would probably spend more money on clothes etc though as I would look a lot better in them!!

I tend to avoid going away with friends to stay at their holiday homes as I use the spray method of Microskin for camouflage and although it is great cover, it is time-consuming and the compressor makes a bit of noise so it is hard to maintain privacy.

I HATE being different and think life would be a lot easier and I would experience more things because I wouldn't have Vit hanging over me.

Almost every decision I make has a consideration of my vit. I am a very private person and don't like people to know that I am a freak behind a body camouflage mask!

On a positive note however, I think vit has made me not take things for granted.
