Help needed with Vitamin Therapy information

Hello,

I am new here and I am interested in starting a vitamin regime for Vit. Some of the members have shared with me that they have had success with vitamins. I have been doing a lot of reading in the past few days and my head is spinning trying to figure out what I should be taking. If you have had success with vitamins could you please share what supplements and doses you are using.

Many thanks for helping me get started!

Joann

  • As Bamsegutt said everyone is different with vitamin deficiences but what has worked for me is: 1000 iu vitamin D, 1 Recouleur pill, 120mg Ginko, 2 fish oil. I take this daily. I had spots on my thumbs and loss pigment around a few finger tips, Since i started this around 9 months ago the spots are gone and finger tips re-pigmented. Good luck!
  • Hello Joann,

Clinical research shows that many people with vitiligo are deficient in folic acid, vitamin C, and B12. Additional studies reveal that copper and zinc are reduced in vitiliginous skin.

There is a lot of good reading at

    • Hi Audrey,

Thanks for that information. I am interested in the Recouleur supplement, It looks like that would be very convenient not to have to take multiple supplements to get everything I need. Can you tell me how many mg of the Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Zinc, Vitamin C, Pantothenic Acid, and Copper are included?

Thank you to everyone for your help,

      Joann

      • Hi Joann,

People like how convenient Recouleur is.

The mg of the vitamins is:

        Zinc 15 mg.

        Copper 2 mg.

        Folic Acid 800 mcg.

        Vitamin B12 1mg.

        Vitamin C 500 mg.

        Pantothenic Acid 150 mg.

        Yours truly,

        Audrey

        • Does anyone know the success rate of recouleur?

      • 2000 mg b12, 800mg folic acid per day.  dont know about the others. u shoud get a blood test from your doctor to see what you're deficient in.
  • Hey,

I haven't been strict enough with myself on the vitamin front, but I did a lot of research in the past about it as I was really keen to give it a go. I found heaps of information and debate on vitamins and vitiligo on Vitiligo Support International's message board (really recommend signing up). Dr Grimes had a regime that might be of interest to you and a brief overview of it can be found here. There's a lot more detail of it actually on the VSI site - you just need plenty of time to search through it cause there's so much info.

    I hope this somewhat helps?

  • Some say that vitiligo is connected to some vitamin deficiencies , you have to take blood test before taking a lot of supplements, otherwise it has no use just taking pills .

Vitiligo is confirmed that it is autoimmune dieses  , normally we are healthy people with no deficiencies actually it has showed that our immunology is much better than others.

A published research show that Vitiligo reduces the risk of deadly cancer melanoma.

It is good to live healthy eat variety and  take less omega 6 and add more omega 3.

    Peace!

    • Hello Bamsegutt,

Vitiligo happens in different people for different reasoins.  For some people, vitiligo is an autoimmune disease.
