Hello!

My name is Annie, I don't have vit myself but we just figured out that my 4 yrs old daughter has it. We are from Californie, but originally from Canada (Quebec).

For now, the vit is focal, she has spots just on one leg, and we are trying the Protopic cream. I don't know what the future will bring, I'm just hoping my daughter will stay as happy as she is right now!

It's a pleasure to reach this community, I think I will probably have a lot of questions later on!

  • I'm surprised to heard that because for two people that I know, Protopic works wonderfully on their arms and legs, and according to them it's slows down the spread also.
  • Too bad Protopic is only good for face :(  , legs are hardest to cure but at least its not on the face . Ask your doctor what amino acid is responsible for skin pigmentation , if he has no clue then there is nothing to see here .

  • hello, how affective is this forest vitiligo treatment? has anyone tried this medicine? please share your experiences for the benefit of others. thanks and best. jitendra

    • @jorge please be more descriptive of how effective this forest treatment and what give more details?  what ingredients and methodology does it use.

I think all of us are looking for SOLID, effective treatments.  Please provide details on how long you have vit, what this treatment did for you?  IMO there 3 things to look for in a treatment:

      1) did it stop further spreading or progression of white patches or did it increase the patches?

      2) did the white patches repigment?  if so how long did the pigment last?

      3) what was the subsequent effect?  did it keep the disease in remission or was there further evidence of more white patches.

I honestly believe that there are some effective treatments out there (no cures but treatments which a pt can manage their vitiiligo).  However PLEASE LET US ALL BE HONEST AND TRY TO HELP EACH OTHER OUT.

It is cruel and irresponsible to say that i used so and so treatment and I am cured.  I think all of us have spent a small fortune and invested all of our hopes in things that are simply scams.  again there treatments but most of these have pro's and con's .  please be forthcoming in giving those details.  Most doctors - whether they are homeopathic, ayuvedic, or allopathic should give details on the ingredients and how these treatments work.  If anyone tells you there are no side effects and it 100 percent guaranteed...I would run.

if something is working please provide detailed info and pictures to provide better info.  Lets all help each other out.  WE ARE ALL ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY THIS DISEASE.  BELIEVE IN KARMA....any good you do will come back to you...and any harm you do will also come back.  There are lots of ways to earn money...preying off people affected vitiligo shouldn't be the way to line your pockets.

this being said please provide HONEST AND SINCERE FEEDBACK!

  • Thanks a lot.  Another question.  Is product available on line

  • Thanks for your reply but don't understand portugese.  Did u take pills and how long?

  • Hi,

I checked forest vitiligo.  What's best prescriptions?  Is it plant based?

  • Thank you Sonia and Rebekka, I'm reading you, and the first thing coming to me is; there is people who totally understand me!!! All I'm getting right now from family and friends (we just got the diagnosis a week ago); Stay positive, there is worst in life. Well I know that of course, but it's not stopping me for being sad and fearful for the future. My emotions are in a roller coaster right now. As a mom I just can't just cross my arms and wait. We are already juicing for years and we are eating organic food, so I'm just sticking with it. I went to Whole Food to find some supplements also, I didn't know which one to pick.

I will go check the Parents section, and read Emily's story.

Thank you very much again, I'm so glad I found this community. Hugs to you, and your little ones!

  • Hi Annie,

In the last six months my 9 and my 10 year old daughters have been diagnosed.  They both have it on their face (near the eyes) and legs.  I know how hard this is and my tears are never far away.  I know another mom whose daughter has had it for 4 years and she says it becomes part of your life and seems more at peace with it.  It is difficult to know what to do in terms of treating children.  We are doing creams and are supplementing them with vitamins, juicing, etc.  I have read enough stories out there about how people were able to manage the disease from within, that it is worth a try.  I think a good starting point is to ready Emily's Vitiligo on the internet if you have not done so already.

  • Hi Annie,

I just learned last week that my three month old daughter was diagnosed with vitiligo. I have the same feelings and concerns that you are going through right now. It's a real roller coaster ride... one minute I am like, so what we will get through this. And the next I am bawling and fearful for her future. We live in Ottawa, Ontario.

Every case is different that is what makes it scary, you never know what will happen. My daughter's is on her torso, and on Monday another spot popped up too which of course sent me through all the emotions again when I just felt it would be manageable.

There is a parents with children with vitiligo section on this website with a lot more parents/support. I am here if you want to talk too.
