Foundation....cover-up....

Crap. I've reached that point....the point where I have to start wearing foundation....and considering that I have NEVER worn foundation because it's just not me, this is a sad realization. But my patches are too obvious now....people are noticing and commenting (without wanting to be mean) and I don't like what I see in the mirror so... My question is : what kind? I'm guessing not all foundation will offer sufficient coverage to camouflage the vitiligo. I really don't want a very thick or crusty look something very natural. Any suggestions?

  • I use maybelline super stay liquid foundation, then finish with nude by nature powder foundation. I find I need to use both yet still not enough! but having tried dermablend its not suited to my skin type. On my face its mostly around my eyes, so I use a brown eye shadow and then blend it in with a lighter cream colour so that it hides my vit and looks more natural. I do change brands often, it is hard to find the perfect one!

Don't worry about private areas, the world doesn't need to see it ! Lol

Thank you kathleen, I will go check out Sephora. I just really don't want to look like I have a layer caùked on my face. I'm a very natural girl and foundation just takes so far out of my comfort zone...
  • My experimentation lets me think that foundation and powder of the same color lasts the longest. The powder can touch up during the day if needed, although I always forget to...
  • Sephora carries a good foundation recommended just for us, called "Cover FX." I'm In the same situation as you, trying to get used to using foundation. This one covers, stays on well, and is a bit less expensive than Dermablend. Dermablend feels like putting glue on your face.

Don't bother To waste any money or hopes on regular department store foundations. They don't work. At least from my research!

If you find something you like, please share with me! I am not wanting to go near a mirror...
