i stumbled across this recently: http://www.aurielstouch.com/contact.php i dont know anyone who has had this done, it's apparently a rare and difficult technique to master, and so is not available everywhere. Regardless, this is worth checking out... i know i will.

  • I did micropigmentation 2 times. Both on the chest area. The color didn't actually penetrate into the skin. I think vitiliginous skin isn't capable of holding the pigmentation. I'm wondering if it might work on other regions of the body where the skin texture is different. I'd love to know if it works for you.
  • Wow... I've never heard of that treatment before but those pics are amazing. i would need more info. i will definitely put that on my to-do list to research... Thanks!
  • i will keep you all posted. im still trying to find someone with the skills necessary in my area. if not im going to toronto.
    • ok so heres the thing.

micropigmentation specialists do not perform this technique on vitiligo patients unless the vitiligo has stopped spreading for at least 3 years. that means that the vitiligo has to be stable. also, even it stable patients, the colour fades up to 25-40% in time. meaning the procedure would need to be repeated. in some people the skin completly rejects the artificial repigmentation all together.

i also found out that dermatologists DO NOT recommend this treatment for anybody...

that doesnt mean that there are no rewards to reap for some people from micropigmentation. it's a hit or miss really.

im sorry if i was spreading false hope.
