Does this look like early-stage vit?

i read a lot about how early-stage vit can sometimes appear blotchy, which is happening on the top of my head (and thighs). in the attached photo, i've got a mixture of regular colored skin, reddish skin and light-ish skin. just a little bit of history, one derm diagnosed me with vit, a number of others haven't agreed.

i would love to consult all you experts here - does this look like early-stage vit (where at first skin is lighter than regular skin, then progressively lightens)? am i just going crazy?

thanks so much and i hope you all don't think i'm too neurotic! =)

  • wanted opinions - i skidded this spot along the gym (playing volleyball). it scabbed in these small dots, but after the scabs disappeared, some light spots emerged. not all the little circular scabs resulted in lighter dots, but check out the photo to see the lightness. does this look like vitiligo?

  • thanks for taking the time to respond. guess i'll just get some sun (when it comes out...i live in seattle and we're anticipating rain and clouds for the next few days) and see if the weird blotchiness goes away.
  • Sherwin I understand your concern but Vitiligo starts out differently on each individual just because you see blotchy spots don't mean that your going to have Vitiligo sometimes what you have comes from not eating enough vegatables

  • First of all, I am NOT a medical professional at all. Although, it's tough to make evaluations on early stage V based on pictures, this picture seems to be very clear. This is NOT related to V.

(Some sidenotes based on our experience:
Since you saw a number of derms, just try to recollect the derms who literally took less than a min to diagnose you. Those evaluations are generally correct. We see 2 different derms routinely for our situation. Both derms usually take identify in less than a min, sometimes, in 5 seconds. And, immediately they start talking about next steps. Trust me on this).
  • Great to hear you may not be having Vitiligo. What a relief !!!
  • No it doesn't at all but I wouldn't trust the derms either cos some of them know nothing about vitiligo.... try to find an experienced derm.
  • It doesn't look like vitiligo. Ask your dermatologist to use black light to confirm the diagnosis.
  • No... it doesnt look one....
