I have it on my upper lip, that's the first patch I noticed. When I consulted Dermatologist for the little decolouration on the lip, he immediately asked me to check on the tip of my genitals for de-colouration and there it was.
so as per him, there are few classifications of vitiligo based on the pattern and the one which I am diagnosed with is " Vitiligo on Lip and Tip". Doctor suggested me to take Antioxidant supplement(selenium dioxide + Zinc Sulfate + Manganese) everyday, and no special restrictions on diet.
And another doctor who checked my blood reports, suggested me to have Iron capsules along with the Antioxidants everyday.
Its been about 2+ years now and no luck with the medcine. Patches are spreading slowly through out my legs and the initial patch on my lip didn't spread much. so with hope, I am taking pills regularly... :) All the Best...
For my 2.5 year old son who has spots on the corners of his lips, we used Tacrolimus for 2 months with no benefit. The doctor suggested that we apply Fluocinonide once a day(since it is strong and generally not used on the face) alongwith tacrolimus and the spots have started re-pigmenting. It has been 3-4 weeks. I am going to switch to alternate days for the next 4 weeks and see how it goes.
I am wondering the same thing...what is effective for lips? somebody from another forums told me that lukoskin from india was effective for them. again I have no personal experience. would love to know from others myself.
