Cure to Vitiligo in Cuba?

Has anyone ever come across anyone with an experience of a cure to their vitiligo in Cuba? I'm fluent in Spanish and English and one day did a search for cures to vitiligo (cura para el mal del pinto - in Spanish) and came across a website for a clinic in Cuba. It's supposed to be a treatment with a placenta and it's supposed to last only 3 days. According to the site it's about 86% effective. Right now, America has travel to Cuba banned but in the last couple of days, some Congressmen and Congresswomen met with Fidel Castro. I'm hopeful the ban will be lifted but has anyone heard of this? The website is as follows: http://www.cubandhealth.com/vitiligo.php They've translated the article in English as well: http://www.cubandhealth.com/vitiligo_en.php Please, if anyone has heard of this or knows it's a fraud, let me know. I was even thinking of traveling to Cuba through Canada or Mexico, but if the ban is lifted, then I no longer have to do this illegally.

  • I am Cuban American. I have often heard about Vitiligo being cured in Cuba. I was even brought "placenta" from Cuba. I did not use it. "Placenta is a human fluid. Since I am sure that Cuba does not have the controls that the USA has, I felt uneasy about using a Human Fluid. I do not want to trade Vitiligo for Aids or some other disease that I could contract. Some people (recent cuban immigrants) have sworn up and down that Vitiligo is cured in Cuba with human placenta. If you want to go to Cuba, go to Canada. (I am not advocating that any immigration laws should be broken. Canada would be a nice place to visit and from there you may see the rest of the world if you so choose).
  • I bought some Melagenina Plus while I was in Colombia. It's really hard to tell if I saw any results. At first I thought I saw some repigmentation but then the vitiligo got worse, I think for other factors. I tell you, what I don't like is thinking about where it comes from. Gross.

  • Hi Olivia
This is my daughter lulu's website but i saw your post and thought I would reply.
A close friend of ours who has vitiligo went to Cuba and undertook the treatment 2 years ago. Unfortunately it was not successful. Our friend has quite extensive vitiligo. She is in her late 30's and developed it age 20. Although the treatment in Cuba didn't change her vitiligo she had a fantastic time and loved Cuba!
We live in Australia and are free to travel to cuba whenever we feel like it!!
If you want to speak to her about it I could give her your email details.
    Cheers Sallie (Lulu's mum)
