A while back, someone on this forum said that hopefully one day people will see vitiligo spots as another part of nature's beauty ... in the same way zebra stripes or panda paws are beautiful. That comment has stayed with me.
Today, I found an article about a cow that was born with the pigmentation of a panda. I love it! Beautiful. The "panda-cow" is a prized possession.

That is a great idea, Steve. I have been doing something very similar with my blog, Mosaic Life Online, http://mosaiclifeonline.blogspot.com/. I promote positive living, physically and emotionally. Vitiligo Friends does this, except you have to join. The Vitiligo Awareness website would require no membership to view pictures or videos, hence being public and focusing only on the beauty of the condition. Would you say that is the primary differentiating appeal? I am all for anything that sheds a positive light on Vitiligo and helps those with it be comfortable with our appearance. I look forward to visiting the site, so keep us posted.
Thank you for being so positive!
Alexander, before others can see vitiligo as another part of nature's beauty, we must first see ourselves that way. When my "vit" first started spreading, it moved fast. I hated to see myself in a full mirror because I didn't recognize me. Now, it does not bother me. I often refer to my "vit" as my body art. I love the nature's beauty analogy. I am so happy to connect with others with vitiligo that see themselves in a positive light thanks to this forum.
