Social psychologists have found that the one of cause of collective thinking errors is usually the members of the collective early to accept the wrong answer, after for they to feedback to each other. Then the entire group thought they made the right choice . they don't like point out each other's thinking process when group members on the discution .They give the decision right to a strong leader usually.
I doubt(only doubt on this point) that the lack of confidence for vitiligo to be able to cured comes from Steve Hargadon consciousness "we have a no-tolerance policy for those who claim a 'cure ".......Maybe is he the strong leader in people's subconscious about vitiligo on the site? Although I am full of respect for Steve (He also created a very thinking grade websitehe .) I suspect according to the following:(continue)

I think this is actually a very valid question/point. I definitely set the tone for the network early on, in part because we had people claiming "cures" and others who were getting their hopes up, or who because of their newness to Vitiligo might have believed that there was a simple solution.
So, by my early decisions, the site has tended toward requiring scientific proof of those who claim cures. Which is different than saying that different regimens or approaches have not worked for individuals--because there are people who see an improvement with their Vitiligo, and it seems likely that the improvement was related to their treatment. Individual progress or change in Vitiligo is certainly helpful to know and to think about, but it is different than claiming that we understand the disorder or that everyone will benefit from one form of treatment.
By being careful about not allowing claims of cures, I hope that does not send the message that we do not have hope of a cure. For that would negate the very reason that so many of us have gathered here. Not only do we appreciate the support and understanding, but we do hope for some progress in understanding, treating, and/or curing Vitiligo.
As a final note, while the site was created by me, as an American, we do have many members from all over the world.
