adrenal fatigue and vitiligo

Hi all......coming to the conclusion that my vitiligo has been caused by adrenal fatigue and stressful moments in my life. Definitely had more depigmentation during difficult times. Adrenal fatigue has been a fairly constant in my life too due to overuse of stimulants etc....apparently adrenal fatigue causes high levels of unavailable copper and low levels of available copper, and we all know that copper is essential to pigment .....anyone else got any thoughts on this ?

  • Same here.I suffer from adrenal fatigue and I notice crazy amounts of depigmentation when I am extremely stressed.

    • I recently spoke with a very respected Pathologist.  He seemed extremely interested in my fungal link theory.  Asthma, allergies, eczema, psoriasis, and vitiligo all seem to be correlated in many cases.

Fungus/mold is very common around the world.  Spores float through the air and are active in 70 degree weather.  Once in the body, it can survive seemingly indefinitely.

If this is inside of us and my theory proves correct, the side effects of the toxins being released will set off a domino effect that seems link all of this together.  Can we all attempt to ask our local doctors to explore this?  I'd like to have  some more confirmations.

My dentist found an "unidentified mass" in my nasal cavity that he disregarded as a booger.  I only found out after I asked.  I haven;t had it tested yet but it fueled me even more.

  • Absolutely agree with you! I have severe adrenal fatigue and biounavailable copper along with not enough copper. I have been doing Nutritional Balancing for 5 months and my vitiligo has stopped spreading, and I am now starting to see some freckling and repigmentation on my hands.
    • Very nice! This is what i like to see. Are you still eating paleo?
      • Hey Kevin! I'm not doing "Paleo", but I do eat very similar. I do eat grain and legumes, but my diet is about 80% cooked veggies, 20% meat, and a little grain. Lots and lots of supplements, lol! But it's working! I'm doing Nutritional Balancing with one of Dr. Larry Wilson's practitioners - info at http://www.drlwilson.com. How are you doing?
        • Tawny, I'm pretty much following the same concept as yours (gluten-free and balanced diet, supplements   to help oxidative stress,  avoiding  food allergies, I've checked thyroid, gut and so on).  My son's vitiligo had stopped spreading and some patches were re-pigmenting.  For some reason, when his school vacation came (this June),  his vitiligo started spreading again.   I'm pretty sure we didn't do significant habit changes.  Please help me guessing what could be.  Regards.

        • Hey if you tolerate a little grain then more power to you (: im doing ok you? Im not eating very well still tho because its still hard for me to get to the health food store and ive been a bit lazy i guess about taking initiative lol just still gathering info. And also supplementing a with quite a few things. What do you supplement with and what do you feel are your most important supplements for your vit? I will look at this page too thanks for reponding! Im probably gonna be about 80% and 20% aswell (:
  • I agree with your first comments.  I bought my business one year ago, and being a first time business owner, stress levels were very high this first year.  My vitiligo has spread more in this one year than it had in the past 10 years.  Also, I work out 5-7 times a week, and I noticed I do not have the energy I was used to in the past.  I am unsure how exactly they are correlated, but I do know, the last year, I am significantly more stressed, my adrenaline/energy levels are low, and my vitiligo is spreading more than ever.  Also, I just had my thyroid levels checked, and I am normal.  I guess the next step is to check my adrenal levels.

    • Hi Girish, sounds like you probably have adrenal fatigue along with sympathetic dominance. I used to work out pretty hard 3-4 days a week, but I can no longer sustain that sort of activity. When you are stressed working out is one of the worst things you can do since your body is already depleted from stress. Exercise is stressful on the body, and quite damaging in some cases. I now do workouts that do not stimulate my sympathetic nervous system, and do infrared sauna sessions daily to activate my parasympathetic nervous system- which is excellent for reducing stress.
      • I have an appointment soon with an endocrinologist.

As for working out, I know it stresses my body, but it also keeps me sane, and helps with my stress, mentally.  I crossfit and play beach volleyball.
