a theory about what causes vitiligo

you all know that the real cause for our condition  is an unknown one , but while reading alot about V smthg really caught my eyes

we all agree that vitiligo is an autoimmune disease meaning that pigment cell gets attacked by the autoimmune defense system

the theory goes to explain that those pigment cells are in fact a a pre -cancer cells , they have a high chance to turn into cancer pigment cells ... and by that  our self defense  system work to  eliminate the threat by killing the mentioned cells ...

what do you think ? is it worth to be considered as smthg to follow ?!

  • No. In fact a recent study found out, us vitiligans possess certain genes that protect us from developing skin cancer's most dangerous malignant melanoma. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8635844.stm
    • hector , i think what you said is what i explained in the first place the auto immune system kills those cancer cells ( and our bodies lose pigment ) to protect us from cancer (melanoma) so in other words the cells that loses pigments are the one that can turn into melanoma but when they lose the pigmentation the cancer risk drops by a high amount ....

my piont is vitiligo might be a life saving condition ... without it things can go bad , theoretically speaking
      • I believe its caused from vaccine like tetanus
        • I found this online, check this out....

          • this is a very interesting to view , it seems that a vaccine was the cause of v to spread ..however i think the disease is more genetic than anything else
          • really interesting to read this, thanks for posting. towards the end, are they suggesting taking aspirin to treat/prevent vit spreading?
            • Also, there are some articles that mention taking gingko biloba to prevent vit from spreading. While taking gingko biloba my vitiligo continued to spread so I'm a bit skeptical. I think the reason aspirin may help to prevent vit from spreading is to take aspirin as a blood thinner in effect to promote healthy blood circulation.
          • As a supporting point, we strongly believe that, vaccination triggered vit to my daughter. I shared our opinion on this forum atleast half a dozen times. Because, that is the only thing, we could trace, 2 months immediately prior to the onset of vit.
