Hi folks. I just wanted to add a link to my story to encourage any of you suffering from vitiligo. I had many patches of vitiligo on my face that are now completely repigmented.
Sincerely,
Valerie

Valerie, I'm glad that I found this buried post; hopefully you're still going well!
I began eating a vegetarian diet 5 months ago and have now been vegan for almost two. My Nuri-bullet has been a God-send for me, as it allows me to easily consume kale, spinach, and other delicious veggies/fruits 2-3X per day. And I love the taste! One of my strengths is that I possess strong discipline when it comes to my food intake; but it gets frustrating when I'm told a food is good for me, and then later read that it may not be.
Tea, for instance, is often listed on both good and bad lists; but my last vitiligo spread coincided with my switch from coffee to green and herbal tea. (I was drinking a lot.) I no longer drink neither coffee nor tea. Knowing what supplements to take can also be a be a bit overwhelming. I presently take a high-potency multi-vitamin, a B-12/Folic Acid combo, B-Complex, D3, Ginko Biblio, CoQ10, St. John's Wort (just started), and a pro-biotic.
In addition, I'm now using Pro-topic/Elidel 2X daily, which I never did consistently in the past.
Most of my vitiligo is on my face, and I'm extremely confident that I'll one day regain my pigment.
(Looking forward to a heavy dose of the sun!)
I just turned 32 ... and I feel as though my vitiligo is going to be the reason that I'll be able to live the rest of my life at my fittest/healthiest. Without this condition, I would have never considered the true act of treating my body like a temple. That's one MAJOR positive I take from this experience.
Great Valerie, thanks for sharing. Emily's Vitiligo is a very good start for anyone who wants to manage Vitiligo naturally, it's a very helpful source.
I see in you determination, you know most of us start and drop off and get tired of continuing. Much of that has helped me repigment, I will digest your story which I believe will inspire me to get serious with managing mine again.
Ogo, I have my days of managing and letting go, but I'm happy with all of my changes and what I have learned over the years. We each hold the cure to our dis-ease. We just have to fight it out and up! Thanks for your kind words.
Valerie
I just read the document on your research into the effects of diet on vitiligo. Thank you very much for sharing this information, it's brilliant! I have been using food combining for many years to manage health issues and have also looked into other types of dietary changes such as raw milks and cheeses, or switching to goats cheese and milk, vegan, macrobiotics and others. It's often been a stab in the dark. Although I've heard of the diet for your blood type, I never tried it. You have shed light into this area, enough so that I'm going to look into it further as it seems a key issue in healing and maintaining health around any issue. Discovering what you've found useful for vitiligo I think is a key factor in helping to manage other autoimmune conditions. Thanks again : )
Marie,
You are welcome. It is hard to figure out what the problem is since sometimes what is working makes worse for a little while because our body is cleaning out the old stuff. For instance, the living room is clean until we start cleaning out the coat closet. This happens during detox.
Wishing you the best. I think we have to keep flipping switches until all the lights come back on! Best wishes on your healing journey!
Valerie
