About Me:

My name is Samantha and I am 25 years old. I was diagnosed with vitiligo when I was 8 years old. It started as small white spots appearing on both of my legs, but over the years it has gradually progressed. My body is now about 75% covered and I even have a gray streak in my hair from having it on my head. I used to be very tan when I was younger and loved being in the sun...now my skin is fair and I do not get out in the sun as much as I would like because of my disease. I used to get teased a lot in school because of it and found it much easier to quit laying out and things so people wouldn't have to ask me about it. Without my tan, it was not near as noticeable. I am here looking for support from others. I am the only person in my community with this and though some do understand, others do not.
