Hi everyone! My name is Raka. I am almost 20 years old and I will be a junior at Rutgers University this fall. I am an English major. I love to write, read, draw, paint, dance, and sing. My skin has lost its pigment since I was five years old. My condition is different from typical vitiligo in that I regain pigment fairly quickly and that my loss and regaining of pigment is directly correlated to internal health conditions. I felt extremely isolated growing up because my family offered me very little emotional support and could not get me the medical help I needed. I am joining this network because I have never talked to anyone about living and growing up with vitiligo.
