About Me:

I am a 37 year old female, married and has 3 children. I have had vitiligo since it began in 1997. I am having a really hard time dealling with is disease along with alot of other health issues I have. I truly hope that my friends can talk to me and explain to me how they are living with this dis order and how it has affected their lives. If any of you are married has it affected your marriage, how do you deal with the public, and how do I deal with this disorder with a very low self-esteem and many other illnesses. You all please keep me your thoughts and prayers because I really need it!!!!

    Hello Marilyn, how are you doing these days? I hope this site has been helpful for you. I also notice new spots on my body daily or weekly; it use to depress me but at this point in my life, I welcome them and consider them “just another beauty mark”. It is what it is and I can no longer spend my life worried about this vitiligo that I have had for over 25 years. So, I hope you embrace yourself at all times and continue to enjoy life… no matter what. Hugs to you.

    Hey Marilyn......was wondering about ur other health issues and if they r related to the vitiligo?? have started suffering from horrible pains in my hands wrists an elbows an was wondering if anyone else had the same as i read it can be common among vitiligo suffers. Im sori to read u r having a hard time dealing with ur vitiligo an i understand it can be especially hard for u r someone who is darker skin as it more noticeable.Mine, i can hide with fake tan (have u tried that?) an by using total sunblock can keep it off my face an neck an chest! hav had a few "comments" over d yrs from ppl about my hands an if i fell alseep under a tree in the sun an stupid comments like that but i just shrug them off.....well...i think ur pics r beautiful!!! ru on fb??
