It still can be painful (oh I live in NW btw) and I went thru the long sleeves, trousers only and definitely no pictures of any kind period! It's taken years for me to accept there is no cure and I need to make some sort of peace with my splotchy me - even if some of my 'friends' couldn't. 20 years after it started with a dot on my thumb, I now wear dresses, sleeveless tops and powder to take the glare off my face splotches. I also sport an assertive attitude for ppl that think they can stare and/or take pictures (metro weirdos).
