The meeting focused primarily on getting to know each other and sharing our stories. We also discussed that maybe the second Saturday of each month may not be an optimal date for our meetings because participation has been low over the past few months.
Charon has tried a controversial product from Cuba recommended to her by another contact she made on the Vitiligo Friends network. She has not had much success with it, but admits to not using it everyday. She does use a stronger prescription protopic and has seen some results with that.
Brandy, who has naturally depigmented, uses only minimal product to maintain her depigmentation. She and Charon are both huge fans of MAC makeup.
Barnetta: My face has repigmented using no product. Some other areas of my body has seen some dotting of color as well. Normally, I sunbathe, but have not done this in over a year because I was pregnant and now the sun is too much for the baby. I've seen very little change during or after my pregnancy.
Side Note: I was still celebrating my birthday which was April 8th. I enjoyed my day with you ladies. Thanks, Brandy and Charon. As always, thank you Alma for coordinating the meeting even when you were not able to attend.
The date for May's meeting is tentatively May 14, 2011.
I am local in Houston and so wanted to connect, but it seems that everyone has confirmed for weeks their holiday party for this date. I propose a Sunday brunch on December 12th as an alternate date. Same time and place if available. Otherwise, it's no biggie, I will just hope to connect with you next time.
