I was watching a comedy special featuring Katt Williams and he said there's no such thing as Vitiligo, I was so mad when he made that statement maybe he needs to see some of us in person that would probably change his mind and his negative attitude about Vitiligo.

  • I think it's because MJ went from dark skin to light almost overnight in the public eye. There was never a period where we saw him as spotted. People fail to acknowledge that he kept his hand covered by the glove and had a makeup artist at his side for a number of years.

A lot of times people assume that this is my natural skin color. As soon as I mention Vitiligo, some people will instantly say "Like Michael Jackson?" Where with others I say "You know, what Michael Jackson had."

So many people will then say "So, it's a real disease?"
    • people all forget when he used to wear a veil, or a mask in public... hats pulled down... always long sleeves, hand/wrist/arm braces with shorter sleeve shirts. go back and look at all him public appearances... usually major parts of his body were covered.

      people just have short memories.

the surgeries were to try to make his face go with its new color.
      • His first rhinoplasty was done in the late 1970's but he wasn't diagnosed with Vitiligo until 1987 I believe.

He said in several interviews how much his father would make comments about his nose growing up and it was always an issue for him. As many of us know, Janet and Latoya also had rhinoplasty surgery.

I think MJ had severe BDD (Body Dimorphic Disorder). There was an interview a while back with a group of his friends/employees and they mentioned how much of an issue his appearance was for him.

Poor man, I think he had a lot of issues aside from Vitiligo and can't imagine how hard it was to be one of the most famous people in the world and suddenly lose your pigment. Having lost my pigment privately, it was a tortuous process for me so I just can't imagine the pain he struggled with.
  • Katt Williams is an idiot. i think i saw that special. the little fool. he's a comedian, trying to make money by making people laugh. pay him no mind.
