A very moving video and inspiring (It is a great shame he has become a Jesus Freak). Yes of course there are people worse of than us, you could be living in Iraq or Palastine, you could have all sorts of disabilities, but even the man with no legs and no arms has a one tone skin that covers and protects him. You cannot compare and contrast disabilities. There is no scale...someone here on this site with just one white patch on their face may feel just as shite as those of us with patches everywhere. I do agree that these videos are inspriational but this man has managed to make a living out of his disability - how many vit people do you know that have done that - it is unlikely to happen - we are just not quite freakish enough for the media.
The bottom line is this: In stead of focusing on the negative FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE!
Yeah my skin is all jacked up, Yeah I lost all my pigment, Yeah I got stared at, Yeah I wonder if my kids (if I have any) will develop vitiligo, Yeah its difficult and trying at times to build up your self-esteem....
But guess what.. To my one negative (vitiligo).. I have so many positives. Like Lizzy I have Faith, Family and Friends who make life wonderful. Im a beautiful, spicy, curvy woman. My life is probably better than most people with one skin color…lol. Over all my attitude is great and has made all the difference in how I view myself with vitiligo just like Lizzy and Nick. You people better understand that when life dishes you lemons you better learn how to go and make some Lemonade and serve it up.
All of us have the power to inspire someone who is dealing with vitiligo. We have it, We know it, and We are best at ways of coping with it. Change your mindset and learn to be grateful for WHAT YOU DO HAVE!
I saw this video a long time ago. It made me feel very lucky and actually selfish for worrying about my vitiligo as much as I did. I think we should all watch this.
