Okay, so kudos to mainstream media for printing *something* about vitiligo, but I can honestly say that at the end of the article, all I could think was, "No s**t, Sherlock!"
Seriously. They should have just changed the headline to "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN" and been done with it. Epic facepalm.
I have to remind myself that living with vitiligo has expanded my knowledge of the disease farther than the average MSNBC reader, but that to me was the equivalent of making a front page article reading, "SMOKING CAUSES CANCER!!!"
Duh!
Again, thanks for looking out for the little guys, MSNBC, but could you post something news worthy about it? I know UF is desperate to keep their names attached to this one and to keep the study public, but it frankly pisses me off when they issue a press release for the sake of issuing a press release. Has there actually been a breakthrough? NO! The flippin' guy at UF even calls it the "$64 million question"!!!
Sorry for ranting, but living in Florida, I've had to listen to this nonsense since the study began and have been solicited more than once to participate in the study. And every time some pointless article is printed, I get a copy handed to me by some well-meaning family member. Yes, I get it. They're spending lots of money and getting lots of publicity. Have they fixed it yet?
Going to go fix a cup of tea and chill the F out. Backing away slowly from the keyboard...
