Was diagnosed with vitiligo in February....wanted to figure out what was going on with my body. In addition to the dermatologist, I saw my endocrinologist, general practitioner, and an allergist. Without having much in terms of symptoms, the allergist thought it was a good idea with my vitiligo diagnosis (along with hashimoto's since I was a kid) to test for celiac. Turns out that my bloodwork was through the roof positive for it! I got the endoscopy and biopsy done, which also confirmed it. I have been gluten free for over a month now.
Does anyone else have celiac and vitiligo? If so, have you found that going gluten free has slowed down the spread of the white spots? Just curious....

Food allergy (usually gluten, dairy and soy, but not limited to) causes oxidative stress.
Oxidative stress is one of the main vitiligo causes, besides physical traumas, stress hormones, and, of course, the genetic one).
So, the answer is yes.
Thanks, Flavio! Fingers crossed this diet will help. Just waiting for another autoimmune to pop into my system haha. I just keep telling myself that it could be worse...
