  • I have done the "permanent cosmetic"  myself with very decent results. I have not been able to completelly match my skin color however it looks 100 times better than the vit area , less contrasting and can hide it better with just a bit of make up. I do not regret I did it. In my case the vit was stable only for about a year and the "prickling" did not cause the vit to spread.

  • hmm? i didnt mean tattooing my lips :) i started tattooing my arm in a none area with vitiligo but i was wondering when i get down to a vitiligo area would it look them same or lighter ? sorry for the mix up..opps
    • I actually just finished my full color sleeve and my arm has vit all over my elbow, wrists, and spots up and down my arm.  If the tattoo artist is good he could blend the normal skin and vit skin very well.  There is a slight difference in color, but only people who have the disease would be able to tell.  I am very happy with the way it looks.
    • It is not the same as vitiligo spots lost pigment...they do it again and again to get it right...It depends any way.
  • Micropigmentation on stable vitiligo specially on lips is advised ..I have met ppl who done it succsfully. I have done on small spot many years ago and it works no problem ..but you have to do it with proffesionalls.

    Goodluck!

    • Hiya, when you mean stable, how long should a person wait to have this done. I would like to  have my lips done  also, but i am not  too sure when to  have it done.
      • Good question about stable it varies very much ,some require minumun 3 months some others require 2 years. it depend whom you ask..I assume about 6 month is ok.
