New research shows that taking a placebo can still have positive effects even if the person knows they're taking a placebo.

What I've done is taken plastic water bottles, taken the brand label off, and then labeled them with the effects I want. (Using sticker labels)
For the skin, the bottle is labeled All White Skin. (Since I'm trying to reverse the repigmentation; I fully depigmented using monobenzone but had some pigment come back)
Another bottle says, Intense Muscle Growth. I drink it while working out, and really see a difference. It's pretty amazing.
I just shake and drink the bottles throughout the day, mentally reading the label before drinking.
You can make your own placebo for anything you want.
I also recommend people check out the book You Are the Placebo, by Dr. Joe Dispenza. (New York Times Bestseller) I finished reading it two days ago, very interesting.
Other research shows the placebo effect is getting stronger.http://archive.wired.com/medtech/drugs/magazine/17-09/ff_placebo_effect?currentPage=all
I'm still doing the meditation energy healing, as being in a peaceful, relaxed state can help the body heal. http://www.vitiligofriends.org/forum/topics/energy-healing-quantum-touch-2-0

Lol jk
It may be worth trying...!
Yes it really is. Another thing I'm doing is applying water to my skin brown spots directly, from a bottle labeled Skin Whitening.
For someone wanting to restore pigment, the labels could say Restore All Pigment or Powerful Skin Healing.
You have to be creative and find the words that sound right to you. I've modified the bottles a few times to get it just right.
Another fascinating article on the placebo effect
