Hiya, i have been told by a dermatologist, that i shouldn't put sunblock on my lips, that is where the vitilgo is. He said if you are dark skinned you don't need the sunblock. I don't know what to believe, i have been told different things. I think the sun does help a bit to repigment.
I know dark-skinned people, including blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans, naturally produce more of a chemical called melanin, which gives the skin color and absorbs the sun’s damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays. I also know dark-skinned blacks have a natural skin protection factor (SPF) of up to 13, and filter twice as much UV radiation as fair-skinned people. How much factor show one use?
Would like opinions from anybody regarding this issue.
