Treatments??

I have never really tried to treat my vitiligo.  I have in all over my hands, arms, stress points, and recently my face.  I have scheduled an appt. with a dermatologist for the vit on my face and was wondering any advice to tell him or if anyone could give me any advice on repigmentation or anything to help subside the spreading.

  • Jason, I have been in NB UVB treatment for 10 months now (2/3x’s per week) and having good results on my face, like Raf said... I’m no concerned with my hands or feet because those areas don’t matter to me as much as my face. Not only that; it’s hard to get new color on hands and feet due to the fact that there isn’t that much hair. I have vit all over and just getting new color on my face makes me feel great.  Keep in mind there is no cure at this time at least in the US so treatments do work but they are not always permeate.  I have Kaiser INS and they do any vit treatment and it’s covered, this includes xLaser treatment.  Check out my pics to see my results. As usual... avoid direct sun - wear sun screen or a hat.  I can’t wait for winter to get here!!! Take Care

  • Protopic ointment works well for vitiligo on face. I use it. And some of my vit is now gone.
  • Hey Jason, I have been treating it with phototherapy, I had it on both my cheeks, my eyebrows my forehead and my chin. After about 8 months of UVB treatment, I'm down to one last small spot on my left cheek. I still have it on my hands, armpits, elbow, knees and feet, but they don't bother me as much as the ones in the face. Good luck with your doctor's appointment.
    • Thanks, bro i appreciate the info, i'll ask my doctor about that.  The only problem is i work construction so i'm outside all day long and i can't let the treatment interfere with my career, but hopefully it will all work out!
