Hello Everyone,
I had permanent make- up done a few years ago on my foot and it completely came off two days after it was done, it all peeled off like a sticker. Has that happened to anyone here? Im thinking of getting a tattoo of a rose on the same foot but I'm scared that it might do the same thing again, and its really expensive!!!. Is there a difference between permanent make and regular tattoos? Do you think this happened because i have Vitiligo and my skin cells are rejecting the the ink?
Thanks for any advice,
Mirage

Hi
Some times the vitiligo area can reject tatoo, the one which is recomended is Micropigmentation it is what they call it permanent make up some use it fir lip or eye brown.
If you get the profesional ones they can match your color and the place where it rejects they do it again and again.until it keep the new color.
Micro pigmentation was advised on vitiligo congress as last alternative.
Watch out :- you have to do it on stable vitiligo.
Good luck
Thanks Bamsegutt, I guess mine wasn't very stable, Im no longer looking to match my skin color i just wanted to put a
tattoo of a rose on my foot, i hope it works!
Hey
I am not a doctor but as far as I know or learnd on a congress I will not advice you to tatoo on active vitiligo ...the truma from tatoo can make it worest, If I were you will wait until it gets stable then try micropigmentation or (Tatoo)
If you diside to make it please give us inf about the progress.

Hi Bamsegutt, when would my vitiligo not be active? would that mean when my skin is not spotting anymore?
Gee! I might have to wait a couple of years... darn i really wanted it for my birthday this month.
The best is just to do what you feel is right, just be aware of the risk that the tatto will look different if the vitiligo increase. if you feel it is active don`t do it ,if U feel it is stable just do it.
I have repigmented on a small spot that I micropigmented many years ago ,I knew it coz it was on my leg and the hair become dark.
Good luck!
