Hi my name is Corina!
I am 27 years old and vitiligo begins at the age of 6. Sorry my english is not so good!
From head to feed I have very big spots. I can not live a normal life because I feel very embarrassed of my skin! My whole face is white but I am using make-up every day for the time of 12 years!
When I was pregnant the spots becomes more. Sometimes in summer I am using tanning-creams. But I didn`t go swimming for more than 8 years!
Now I have a question: In austria (europe) nobody can answer me my question!
Is it possible to tattoo the whole body with fleshcolour?? I tell these question to a lot of people who can make tattoos becouse they think that I was silly and say NO!
I really want to have a honest reply!
Who knows how long it will take to find the right thing to cure vitiligo!? I want to live NOW a normal life and my biggest wish is to have a normal brown skin!
Sorry for my worse english --- school is a long time ago ;-)

i think your desperate need for a solution may affect your decision ...am saying this because i can 100 % relate to what you say and feel the same way
the idea of using the ordinary tattoo`s as a medical solution is very dangerous and can lead to malanoma.
however there is the term medical tattooing or more correctly micropigmentation which is done by professional medical experts with a license to practice .... btw micropigmentation is not a very practical solution as iv heard from alot of people
Micropigmentation is basically a specialized form of tattooing. Pigment is carefully applied in small amounts to the light skin areas. It can be effective for small areas, but the pigment still fades over time, doctors have difficulty matching your skin color well, and you still risk infection at the pigmentation location. This is most commonly used around the lips of people with naturally darker skin
do you mean something like permanent make-up? i think that this micropigmentation is not the right thing for me because my areas are really biiiigggg! and my spots are growing the whole time.
when i hear the word melanoma than i kick this idea with tattooing my entire body out of my life!!! :-) thanks to you!!
I can TOTALLY understand your frustration with Vitiligo - considering how long you have had it.
Technically - it is possible to tattoo your entire body with flesh color. But imagine how PAINFUL the tattooing process will be for you.
You said you have big spots from head to feet. IF most of your body is already "white" - you can consider some treatment to make the rest of your body white too. It is called de-pigmenting and you can find discussions about it in this website.
IF your Vitiligo is only on a small percentage of your body - then consider some other treatment for it - which you will find discussed in detail in this website too.
Keep "tattooing your whole body" as a very very last option. That is my honest reply !!!!
Good luck to you (and to all of us) in conquering Vitiligo !!
thanks for your reply!
i know that i can de-pigmenting my body but i want to be brown not white. and in austria it`s very hard to find a doctor who do this. much areale of my body are white but in % it is not much enaugh to de-pigment my body, this is what the doctor sais!
and I think that my life is painful enaugh so tattooing my entire body couldnt be painfuller!!
Hello again !! The GOOD news is that, like you said, though much area of your body is white - in % it is not much !!
You didn't say if you are on any kind of treatment now - so check out the two web sites below to get an idea of what kind of treatments are available - at least to CONTROL spread of Vitiligo.

Many of us here believe that it wont be long before a permanent cure is found !!!. So, if you must, keep the tattoo idea as a last option !!
Good luck to you once again - and keep in touch !!
