My friend recently pointed out that a weird spot on my nose is actually stark white in the middle(I had just thought I had gotten some weird pigmentation from the sun or something), which is definitely a spot if Vitiligo forming on my nose. This is making me believe that maybe the other weirdly pigmented spot next to my eye is also vitiligo. From what I've seen online, most people get it around their eyes, and their mouth when it first spreads to their face. Is this how it happened for everyone here who has it on their face, or did some get it on their nose and other random places?

my first spots were around my eyes, it stayed that way for a while then spread to my legs.... when I turned 16 my vitiligo went wild and spread almost everywhere.... I've noticed that places where theres trauma (like cuts and abrasions) develop vitiligo. I have vitiligo on my forehead, nose, mouth, eyes, and ears.
the best option if you have new patches on the body is to go in for a short course of immuno suppressive drugs or steroids,
however i see from my clinical practise this is not being done in most of the countries except in indian sub continent,
we do get to see a lot of vitiligo cases in india and we have been quite successful in treating them,but i see the derms abroad just prescribing a steroid ointment ,this does not help at all

I got it around my neck first, then around my jawline, forehead, then around eyes. Try protopic ointment, it's the only treatment that worked for me as I have gained most of the pigmentation back on my face, the sooner you start the better. Now my neck is filling in but a little slower than rest. It is freckling in day by day
mine started as a spot on my privates. now a year later, its on my face. dont know for sure when it started, cause at first i thought it was just shiney oily skin areas, till i looked close and noticed the lose of pigment.
When vitiligo starts spreading towards the facial area this can be an emotional nightmare especially if it's never been on your face before I felt just like you at first but I have since then learned to live with it since being like the elephant man wearing a cover over my face or something
It can start in any part of your body. Im my case it started on my right hand then it started spreading in different parts of my body. It sucks when you get it on your face. I have it around my eyes, down my nose, around my mouth and going down my chin. Makeup does wonders. I use coverblend and other make up but most of the time I don't.
My first spot was on my chest. When I went to the derm he noticed a spot on my left inner bicep (biopsy followed). It was a year or two later before the spots started around my eyes.

my 23 yr old son got the first spot on left side of his forehead which grew diagonally toward his eyebrow and then spread down side of his nose and on right cheek towards nostril. he has been 95% cured now.
hi meera i have had exactly the same experience ...how did you cure it with protopic or anything else. how long did it take to start seeing pigmentation? would love to know as it sounds the exact same line mine has taken thanks xxxxxxxxxx
