segmental vs general vitiligo?

How do you know which type you have?  My son developed a white eyelash on his left eye about 3 months ago.  Now, he has about 6 or 7 - all on his left eye.  He also has a few white hairs on his head, all on the left side.  And he has a few white spots on his left temple (which are thankfully only noticeable under the special lamp at the dermatologists office).

I'm thinking he may have segmental vitiligo, but how can you know for sure?  And if so, do you treat it the same?  At this point we're not treating it, as he's still young (almost 3).  And the only noticeable spot are his eyelashes - and I'm nervous about putting cream near his eye.  What are the main differences between the two types?

Also - I'd love to hear any natural remedies/diet changes that may work for segmental vitiligo (if this is what he has).

Thanks in advance.

  • I think pseudocatalase cream with sun bath (before 9AM and after 4PM)  would be the best option (no side effects) plus diet (gluten?,  dairy?, so on)

So, a food allergy would be necessary.  Look for USBiotek exams.

PS: Regarding vitiligo types, what really matters is the "spreading".  If it spreads, it should be treated as NSV.  Otherwise, more investigation is necessary, since it can be linked to other diseases.
