Hello friends,
Our son has had vitiligo for the last 5 years. He's learned how to adjust and had some success with some repigmintation, but not 100%. He has made the decision that he WILL go off to college next fall, after graduating in 2015, something we were unsure about him doing mainly because of the constant stress, stares and explanations with the severity of his vitiligo.
While he's busy sending in his applications and writing essays about life and what makes him unique one of his topics is living with vitiligo. He told me he did a search for scholarships for students with vitiligo and couldn't find anything. Just wondering if anyone here has found any scholarships that might help my smart young man pay his way through college? Thanks!
Blessings to you all...

I've never heard about it. I think it's because people consider vitiligo as a cosmetic disease only. The don't have any idea about how devastating it can be psychology-wise.
Thanks... good advice I will tell him to ask the college directly about a scholarship.
If I have anything to do about it "SOMEDAY" there will be a scholarship for students with vitiligo! I know that there are probably some kids out there that won't want to go on to college b/c of how they feel about their vitiligo and adding the cost of college is just one more reason to not go.
I'm happy that our son has come to terms with his vitiligo but I know there are many that probably haven't.
Thanks again!
You are totally right.
