Was reading last night about this new treatment that the FDA are testing. It is called Scenesse, which is a famelanotide melanocyte stimulating hormone that will activate the melanocytes that will stimulate the skin pigment cells. I am still researching and trying to learn more about it. Has anyone else heard about SCENESSE?

Clinuvel established our photoprotection channel as a video resource library on UV, light, skin and melanin knowledge
Hi Grace,
I work for Clinuvel, the company responsible for the development of SCENESSE® (afamelanotide) and its testing for vitiligo. We have pilot trials underway in the USA and Europe to determine whether the drug may prove safe and effective for vitiligo as a combination therapy with narrowband UVB (NB-UVB). We’re expecting the first results from these studies later this year. More information can be found via www.clinuvel.com/en/vitiligo, but I’m happy to answer any questions you may have here.
Thanks
Lachlan

Have not until you calling it to our attention. Sounds like Scenesse combined with UVB-NB light exposure will result in accelerated re-pigmentation. That's great news right! The only problem is the release of the drug is a ways off, especially in the United States. Also, I've heard that you are not supposed to undergo more than 200 treatments of UVB-NB exposure, not sure if there's any truth to that or not. 200 treatments probably wouldn't get you more than a year or so... Someone else could probably advise in this regard. My assumptions are based on reading through their website and mainly, their facebook site. Here is a link to their facebook site.
