I'm new here to this forum but I've had vitiligo since I was 9 (I'm now 27), its spread about 60% of my body. It was tough growing up with it, but it never stopped me from play highschool sports, making interesting friends, meeting new people..etc. In the past I've tried everything from pills, to herbal medicine, dietary foods (like wholewheats, brown rice, etc..) and various creams, but nothing has worked as well as PUVA-UVB. I go to treatments (which is about 2 miles from where I live) twice a week, and after three-four months of treatment my white spots have grown back to brown. So, I would like to stress, the program does work. But as always there are a few side effects, like itchiness, redness, dryness of the skin, but nothing really serious. If anybody here is thinking of taking PUVA-UVB try it, it does work but as always PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR. I'd show you pictures but I'm camera shy.... :) Anyways, for those who feel down and out at times (I know how you feel) about your skin, keep smiling there is hope.
