Protopic can be safely used in the short term for treatment of Vitiligo on the genital area. Protopic should be applied externally and there should be no contact with internal genital area in order to avoid risk of irritation and infection due to it coming in contact with the urethral openings.
A dermatologist is best suited to answer this topic and he may also recommend whether Protopic 0.1 or a milder Protopic 0.03 is better to be applied in such cases.
There is also an FDA warning issued in 2006 warning of long term usage of Protopic ointment.
