Lady_JO: My write up below is completely REVERSE of this discussion. I am sharing because, this may be useful to some parentsly, who have small children (age less than 10).
We strongly believe that, in the year 2007, vaccination triggered Vit for our 6.5 yrs old daughter. We then, stopped further vaccination efforts and started protopic journey. Luckily, in several areas (eyelid, knee, elbow, back side, armpits), protopic reversed vitiligo. Just dealing with ankle now. It's taking forever since bone is involved. Bony vitiligo is much different than on pure flesh (ex: eyelid).
We and our Derm, sometimes wonder, if stopping the vaccination or protopic usage reversed Vit. For our daughter, small scratch on her body, brings Vit out. Good news is it is being cured. That's the BEST part. Big hope for us and others.
My point is that, if someone has a child and vit is being triggered, it's not a bad idea to focus on the vaccination efforts and teh pattern. I still think that, vaccination in general is SAFE for everyone. Unfortunately, we are talking about the less than 1% of population, for which vaccination bring adverse effects.
