Hello everyone! I just joined the group. My husband was diagnosed with vitiligo and prescribed protopic 2x per day for 6 weeks (then he goes back to see the dermatologist). His is all over his face and starting on his fingers. Just curious if anyone had positive results using this cream? He is also adding B12, folic acid and vit D to his supplements. Any other treatments that have been helpful, especially for anyone who had it on their face (around eyes, nose and lips, chin)? Thanks in advance!!!

If we use protopic we have to stay out of the sun but is it just the areas that we put the cream on?? if we just keep those areas out of the sun is that okay?
dr silverberg told my husband to go into the sun with protopic everyday for 10-15 minutes -- that the sunlight helps the drug be more activated or something? But only for 10-15 min per day...then he should put on sunscreen as usual. is that what other people have been told??
Protopic is best for vitiligo on the face. I use it on my face too. And it continues to work for me. It could take up to 3 months before your husband sees any improvement. As for fingers, I am not sure Protopic alone will work. He might have to start with a steroid based cream first. B12 + Folic Acid and D is good for us. Good luck to your husband !!!!
