Hi Kelly. I can't say for sure if my vitiligo worsened with pregnancy. But I did develop spots while pg with my second where skin naturally darkens during pregnancy. Those were the only new spots I recall cropping up. I definitely have many more spots since my first child was born nearly 5 years ago, but that may just be a natural progression of my vitilgo. There is an inevitable about of stress that goes along with being a new mother like sleep deprivation, hormone fluctuation, and general anxiety of "am I doing this right?!" And as stress is often a trigger for new spots/spreading for many people, its something to keep in mind (just keep in mind - not to deter you, of course!).
I didn't notice any changes in either of my two pregnancies in the last 3 years, but before that when I went on a combined contraceptive pill, my vit patches went nuts - over those 7 months they spread and got larger by about ten times ..... I was absolutely distraught and will never go on that contraceptive again!! Unless it was a coincidence of course, but I'm convinced it was the pill! Good luck with your pregnancy - I hope it all goes well for you.
