My daughter's spots are in random places so its easier to have the handheld light for us. Plus, the doctors office is too far away for us to drive there regularly. The light is done at the dr. office and was recommended by the dr. so I think it is safe

We know that UVB helps to repigment , The question is if the repigment is permanent.Has any one got permant repig ? how many persent of the repig is fading away.
we purchased the UVB light. I'll look up the name of the company and post it. You can purchase one. You may need a doctor's prescription to purchase it but my insurance did not pay very much so essentially we bought 90% of it out of pocket. The areas on my daughters skins are tough to turn (knees, shin, ankles) and I've found that I have to greatly increase exposure time on these white patches to even activate the melonin in the skin to start freckling.. its trial and error but i have seen resutls.

How long can you expose the skin to UVB, my skin does not go pink I am up to about 3 minutes each spot, but the spots do not turn pink. How long did you use the lamp before you saw some freckling?

increase the time until the skins is just before red
I was diagnosed when I was 8 and was prescribed for phototherapy. I repigmented 90% back after two years of treatment. I had some stubborn spots on my ankles, knees, back and neck that did not repigment as I would have liked. Hope this helps!
