NOT GONNA SPEND $$$$$ ON A VITILIGO CURE,REMEDY,PROCEDURE OR COVER CREAM
So why are we spending so much money on treatments and procedures only too have it not work or continue to spread later on. I have decided too just let my Vitiligo take it's course because when it started it was beyond my control so I will just let it continue to do what it wants if it stops I'm happy and if it continues I'm happy either way. Life is too short to continue to worry about it I'm a Christian and I believe in God the body is just a shell that holds the spirit and flesh and blood can't enter the Kingdom of heaven anyway so I'm at peace in my life knowing that I believe in God and his infinite wisdom,Vitiligo is a mystery such as many other things in life why we are trying to figure out what causes it may cause great stress, maybe somethings should be left a mystery I'm not going to stress myself trying solve this mystery. If somebody can't accept me for me I probably didn't need them in my life anyway I'm not going to sit here and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a cure for something that I have no idea what causes it, I refuse too buy cover creams for my Vitiligo just so that somebody won't stare at me, I love myself too much to do that but if that's what you choose to deal with your Vitiligo you have my full support take care and God bless you all !!!!
You need to be a member of Vitiligo Friends to add comments!
None of us know what caused our Vitiligo so why are we so sure that certain chemicals, herbs or procedures will work, Vitiligo has been a mystery for centuries I saw a documentary that said even ancient Egyptians had Vitiligo because it was and is still a very popular condition in this part of the world just as it in some latin countires or other countries where people are of a darker complexion even Italy because Italians are of the darker european (caucasion race)
Look at the map and you will notice that Italy is not really far from Africa which is in a Southwesterly direction from Sicily and Italy

Thanks for this info Carl, we will tell our Vit story the African way in Africa by God's Grace. Persons living with Vitiligo in Africa has really suffered all sorts especially lies from some fake pastors, native doctors and some spiritualist..... God helping us, we will bring the much desired and long overdue support and awareness in Africa.
I totally agree with you Carl, all my trust is in God and am ever so grateful to Him for Vitiligo because the kind understanding I have of life today, I don't know where I would've gotten it. The funny thing is that people has suddenly chosen categories of life, we are all equal because we are created by one God, breathe same air and dies equally, so now I sit back and wonder why I was really so traumatized and depressed, well guess its still part of Vitiligo mystery.
I don't wear cover creams, because I want to be accepted for whom I am, I love and accept myself so much that I make sure am in what I feel comfortable in, go where I want to go and do whatever I want to do at anytime as long as I can afford it....funnily people want to identify with me more than ever before maybe because of my Vitiligo Support and Awareness Foundation or because they want to identify with a cool beautiful lady....yes I am and I know it and do not really need more confirmation.
People, get into what suits you, give people something to admire and they will see less of Vitiligo, these days they ask me, but you don't have Vitiligo and I just laugh and show them and you know what they usually say, I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't show me, though it is true that am really repigmenting.
Someone will love you for whom you are, if they don't keep loving yourself and doing that, that makes you happy.
For me I am still spending money on Vitamin because it is working for me, it all depends in all we want for ourselves, if I get all my natural color back (I love my dark skin), all Glory to God, if I don't , all Glory to God! if I die tomorrow, I will die fulfilled and not in misery. Life can be short, I wouldn't want to live and die miserably, I want to make the best of today living happily and Positively because it can end tomorrow or the next second.
Ogo when i read all this you write i've cried because the way people look at me they judge me differently, thus has make me to apply make up more specifically on ma lips, but i didnt try creme and other stuffs cos i knew it isn'nt cool, we are in the world whereby we meet different people with different judgment, and people have different understanding.
What we people with Vit need to do is make people understand what Vitiligo is, and they become aware of it that somewhere, someone people like us have that condition, you are lucky you have an awareness group soo people right there do understand.
I am a commuter and i travell 30 KM everyday so i meet different people some they ask what happened to me some they believe its fire burns, others suggest its a gas burns but they i simply tell them its a skin disorder. May i take this opportunity to thank God for being in this world, he's the reason to everything happening to us,
I was soo devastated at first seeing my skin turning white, it was an everyday nightmare. until i got a counsellor and suggest to join support groups and find what others are doing about since there's no cure.
Im glad i find Ogo Maduewesi from other country i dont know of other peopoe from my country as im still finding out from peolpe of my own country, its a blessing to have you guys as everyday i get strength from you, i live positively with Vit, and Glory to the Lord not just everyone has it but this makes sooo unique.. lol
Thank you thank you everyone for your inspiring stories.
Luv u all

My dear Saara,
Like I told you before, your messages continues to inspire me to do so much more and not restrict the awareness to West Africa alone but the whole of Africa, but it will be one step at a time. I believe that our Documentary and some TV interviews will be aired round Africa with time and as we are through with the.
You are lucky they are asking you if its fire burns and stuff, in my own case , I was told its a curse, nemesis, and spiritual attack, that they used some mystic on me so I will not get married...lol oh well this is typical African analogy to anything different.
Explaining it to people is the best thing that has worked for me, because when you handle it like an interesting topic as it is, it usually get people interested and next thing you are being treated like one star....lol. Well thats hoe its been for me, I carry it with so much confidence that before you judge me, I would've given you an attitude of who are that I must associate with you.
I don't have a car and am sure you know that Nigeria is Africa's most populous country, you can imagine the stares. I enter Taxi, commercial buses, market anywhere I want to go now which were difficult for me before, in fact I carry my VIT like one fashion statement. Today I dont see stares but Admiration!
It was not easy at first, I thank God I really conquered it all with Positive Attitude.......am postponing our Inaugural Launch and Seminar because we want to get it right and off in a very Grand way. Africans must get to know about Vitiligo I promise you,but need all the support to make it happen..
Lots of Love

I agree with you 100% Ogo I love myself and I love God I refuse too cover up something just to appear normal to somebody who probably wouldn't accept me for me, How can people sit here and say they love themself when they are using cremes and covers to hide their Vitiligo, the hell with them let them look and stare and if they have a question just explain to them what Vitiligo is, I love when people ask me questions about it because I love educating the public about Vitiligo because the more people know about it the more accepting they will become of you

I love your resolve on this Vitiligo issue Carl, as far as am concerned its the way to go. Truly everybody is not same and does not handle situations alike. I quite understand with people who wears cover creams, thats the only way they can handle it, some individuals are over conscious of themselves and people around them, some people still live trying to please people while displeasing themselves, one thing I now for sure is that some of them will wake up to reality someday while some will never.
My take is whatever works for you do it, loving and accepting yourself first....Do not allow a fellow human being who has no superiority over you control your life and emotions or determine your life for you.....sometimes we are bothered about the opposite sex, and I ask a question, do we really know what we want or anyone that shows interest?
There was a lady around Nigeria here who dated a man for 16years feeding and taking care of his bills, she did it because she feels that no other man would want her if he leaves because of her Vitiligo, he left her with a broken finger because she refused to give him money on a particular day and he struggled for it and broke her finger.
The day they finally broke up (of course I talked her into breaking up from such bondage), she told her and her Mama that they must be dreaming to think that he will ever marry her, it was very difficult for her, but I helped her move on and today she is in a beautiful relationship. She couldn't believe it when other men started showing interest, she became a hindrance to herself at that point because anybody that asked her what happened to her as in her Vit became an enemy.
Like I said earlier, we react differently, she wasn't insane but took it all the best way she could until help came.
I believe one day we will understand that we are not living for people but for ourselves first.
Carl you are amazing! Thanks for bringing some light into our hearts. I feel the same way as you do, always have. Keep inspiring us with your words and thanks for sharing with us your feelings.
Carl, I am glad to hear that you are able to accept your vitiligo and are content with yourself. I can only hope that one day I will be able to embrace it as you have found to do so. I have only been down this road for a short time and have a long journey ahead of me. There are days when I do have the mentality as you do and I can give it all to God. Then there are the rest of the days when I have to care about the way I look and make myself look presentable. Thanks for your words of encouragement!
Lily I used to be depressed and upset about my Vitiligo but I turned it all over to God and it was like a miracle because it don't even bother me anymore I asked god to take my emotional pain away and he did, You might not believe this but I'm just as happy now as I was when I didn't have Vitiligo
