hi I'm a 37 year old white male who has recently been diagnosed with vitiligo on my face, I used a steroid cream for 3 months which didn't help at all and now I have been using a pimecrolimus cream for 6 weeks with no improvement. Everyone I have spoken to seems really vague about vitiligo and not really sure what causes it. I was just wondering if their was anyone on here that could help. Has anyone had good results from creams, light therapy or can smoothies (change in diet) help? Any info would be really appreciated. Thank you

since vitiligo is an autoimmune disease, I suggest you to treat it from inside - out. I will suggest you to try to find out what could cause it in a first place ( undiagnosed food intolrenace, gut dysbyosis, hormonal disbalances, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, heavy metals...).
From my experience I could tell you that as long as you dont adress the root cause of the disease, it will be still active and no treatment will give result....
personaly i had a lack of B12,also gluten tyroid issues and severe gut dysbiosis.

Hi Maria thank you for your reply, I have a history of tyroid issues in the family but haven't been diagnosed myself. How did you find out what issues you had, have you corrected them and have you seen any improvement in your condition?
I read a lot about the vitiligo and autoimmunity, so I started with testing my self for possible triggers... It would be great if you could visit some functional medicine practitioner to find out what could be the possible triger for autoimmune response in your case.
I am taking terapies for tyroid,I am on strict vegan diet (gluten free, dairy free, soy free...),also I am taking B12 shots... Yes, I saw a lot of improvements in my condition since I am treating the disease from inside - out.
