Hi All,
I will start trying a new anti-oxidant that has been recommended by a researcher. It's POLYPODIUM Leucotomos.
It can be bought in two ways:
1- Pills of 240mg (2x a day)
2-Extract (topical aplication)
Mix with 100g of a base cream. For instance, Vanicream ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vanicream-Skin-Cream-Jar-With-Regular-Cap-1-Lb-/260583819757?pt=US_Skin_Care&hash=item3cac0189ed )
Properties: Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, photoprotective activity against photooxidative stress, reverses elastin loss and modification,
Use: add to Canvas base cream, the extract will dissolve readily. You can use other creams or gels but you will have to test for solubility.
Further information: This is an extract obtained from a fern that grows in tropical areas in South America, common names are calaguala. The extract is used in Europe under the name anapsos.
Polypodium leucotomos extract eliminated production of the inflammatory cytokine IL-6,. In mice, it decreased mast cell infiltration and the angiogenesis promoted by chronic UVB irradiation. Inhibition of TNF-a and IL-6 production may mediate the inhibition of angiogenesis and protection of human Langerhans cells from depletion initiated by UV.

I've been using Polypodium Leucotomos 500mg pills daily for more than 5 years.
On my case, no signs of repigmentation at all, but in these 5 years my Vitiligo has been stable, I only noticed new white spots on my arms on the past two months coincident with great sun exposure on a tropical country.
I hope the cream works.
Keeping vitiligo stable is a great victory itself.
I said in another post that to win the battle we must remove from the patches a protein called MIA (www.researchforvitiligo.com).
The cream that will neutralize this protein is not available yet, however I believe that a combination of creams (pseudocatalase, Elidel, Polypodium, etc.) might help (doing this function partially) by chance.
I will. I took the cream option.
you have been so great with your posts lately. thank you
Thanks.
