Melatonin Use. Is it "okay" when you have Vitiligo?

I'm interested in taking Melatonin for sleep regulation.

I have vitiligo, mainly in areas you can't see. I am being overly cautious, I'm sure, but is it advisable to use melatonin given its relation to melanin? Forgive me if it's a "dumb" question, but if melatonin can effect melanin levels, and melanin is what aggregates melanocytes, and melanoycytes are what our bodies are attacking, wouldn't there be a risk for it to make our body attack more or get out of balance and increase the profession of vitiligo?

  • Melatonin are good for vitiligo, a doctor told me, he was not a dermatologist but an ENT specialist.
