Hi,
I've had stable vitiligo on my face for about 10 years now. I tried topical treatments and PUVA without much success, and then underwent the "flip-top" skin graft technique by David Leffell from Yale in New Haven. That gave me a lot of pigmentation, but there are 'cracks' of white or lighter tone between where the grafts were placed, and my lip and surrounding area were not affected. Also my facial hair in the area is white.
So after a few years, I've been looking around again, and have learned about melanocyte transplantation, which seems like a promising option. There seems to be a lot of interest on here about it, and clear information about who does it and how reliable they are is hard to come by, so I thought I'd summarize who I've found so far:
Dr. Anantha Prasad Holla (www.drholla.com)
- Has offices near Delhi and Managalore in India
- Seems legitimate.. have downloaded a couple publications by him
Dr. Sanjeev Mulekar (www.drmulekar.com)
- Locations in Saudi Arabia, Delhi, and London
- A member from this group had successful result with him
- Has many publications listed on his site (haven't downloaded any of them)
Dr. Vivekanand Bhat (www.noblevitiligoclinic.com/)
- Located in Bangalore, India
- Has posted a lot in this group and seems genuine
- Have not seen any publications listed by him
Henry Ford Hospital (http://www.henryford.com/body.cfm?id=54013)
- Located in Detroit, Michigan
- Don't know anything about them... just filled out their form for a consultation
I also heard about a place in Bordeaux, France from other posts in this group, but the site I found (http://www.vitiligofrance.fr/) is in French so I couldn't figure much out.
Does anyone else have anything to add? Any insight into why to choose on of these doctors over the others? I am particularly surprised that no one in this group has mentioned Dr. Holla, since he is the first one I found while doing my search.
Thanks!
Sushant

I have been researching about melanocyte transplant and stem cell therapy for a while ..it seems as it is a good alternative treatment. I haven’t heard about dr. Holla but I know that the main founder of this treatment is from Sweden dr, Johanson I think most of the doctors you mentioned above learned in Sweden most use the same method .
I am planning to try it with dr Vivek since he is participating on this group....I will let you know the result.
