  • Protopic is known to work well for facial vitiligo.  We are the LIVING proof.  Plus, there are dozens of other candidates. It's all your LUCK, whether you get successful results with Protopic or not.  That is the confusing part with this condition. Protopic works for some and does NOT work for others.

topical medicine (ex: Protopic) does NOT work for lips.  Lip is completely different story altogether.  Topical medicine works ONLY in the area, where hair folecules exist.  They act as "conduits" to bring the pigment from below the surface of skin to above.  In the area of lip, hair folecules do NOT exist.  We learned these facts after visitng 2 different famous derms here in the United States.  Need to do something else for lips. There are other techniques, which are complicated, we did NOT invest our energy in those areas.....Hope this helps.

    • If your vitilgo on lip is stable..the most easiest treatment that works is permanent make up (micropigmentation) It is akind of medication tatoo.you can choose any color you want or your skin collor.

  • Continue with protopic for lips. I remember reading about someone who said it worked. Give 3 - 6 months for it to work.

    • thank u. i will try this for another few months.

  • Thats great news   i wish u all the best for the future

  • Hi Debasmita

I see you've been using Protopic,  can you please tell me how many time you have to use it in a day and have you had  any side effects?

    Thanks
