Just for men hair coloring

Quick question for you all. I have so gray hair in my GO-T and was wondering about using JUST FOR MEN and on the box it stated that it could cause skin depig. and not to use if you have the condition of Vitiligo. I was shocked 1. If you already of White patches as they say on the box then what is the danger? 2. What do you all use to color your hair that becomes gray do to Vit.? Thanks for any Info. as I really respect all of your opinions!

  • Why do I get the feeling that this is only a side effect in lab mice who were having Just For Men pumped through an IV daily for 3 years?
Yeah, I get it, they finally turned white...after they lived off of a diet of nothing but Just For Men and Chlorox ;-)
  • I get some white hair on my neck from vitiligo and and i dye it ever now and then to cover it up and it hasn't seemed to worsen my vitiligo. I have been using protopic to treat my vitilgo for about a year 1/2 and i have seen alot of repigmintation. Interesting to hear though, i hope it doesnt cause spreading of white spots.
    • Vincent, I have had a protopic presciption for about 2 months and haven't started, I like to hear that it has worked for you. As for JUST FOR MEN i am sure it is what Marty and Ali Marie said, Just covering their butts.
  • i use it (cant live with out it). i have 2 white spots next to my mouth, so i grew my beard to cover them. ... it darkens them a little i think, but not much, just enuff for them not to stand out behind your drakened beard too much.. i use dark brown color. use a lighter shade then your hair is and i think you'll be good.

even if it does darken your skin onder your beard.. it's wear off in no time.
    • Thanks Marty. I have a spot of vit. next to my mouth also so I also grew a go-t to cover it.( Everyone I knew was shocked as I am pretty conservative but they all like it!). I also have some gray hairs and was wondering about coloring them. I have Black hair so would use black. How long does it last before you have to re-color. Also you haven't seen any problems using it since the box said not too?
      • i've been using it for years. i've had the spots for a months, i've dyed it twice since i grew a ful beard again. looks good. probably if i shaved it might be darker then pale white, but not the color of my hair. (my vit's actually pinkish)

i have black/brown hair. i used black, it's too dark and looks fake. if your hairs as dark as mine, trust me, use the dark brown. *(green box)*. it looks more natural. normal hair is not one tone.

depending on how much you're hiding. i'd say one to 2 weeks. i dont hide the gray whens it growing back, just when it gets too much, i dye it again. everyone knows i dye, i just like it better. one box will last u a month or so. (4-5 uses)
good luck. i'll up load a picture of my dyed beard when i get back from yoga tonight.
        • Agreed on the dark brown. Somewhat unrelated, but I mascara my eyebrows (not because of vit, just because I can't stand wimpy eyebrows). I actually dye my hair from a very dark brown to jet black, but I still use dark brown on my brows to avoid looking like Joan Crawford. Less is more when it comes to artificial hair color.
          • ahahahahahaha wimpy eyebrows.... hahaha thanks for the morning chuckle. ;-)

i do know what u mean though... my vit's totally under my eyebrows. and i noticed the the inside corners have thinned out. i know a lot of talk has been said about hairs turning white, but has anyone lose hair from their Vit areas????
i noticed next to my mouth where i have spots, when i grew my beard in, less hair grew in those spots.
            really weird.

might have to start adding eyebrows too. ;-) (fortunately i'm an actor too and have stage makeup)
            • Thanks for all the info. But does anyone know why on the box of " just for men" they say not to use if you have Vitiligo?
