I can't tell you how many times a person has come to me asking if they have vitiligo because they saw a spot on their skin. Just because I have vitiligo does not make me or anybody else with it an expert and I wish people would understand that and forward their questions and concerns to a doctor or dermatologist. I hate walking down the street only to have somebody ask me "Hey do you think this is what you have ? " It could be or maybe not, only a medical professional could tell you that and even he must take a series of test to determine if somebody has vitiligo and I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else out there because I'm quite sure it has !!!!!!!

Now if I walked up to a FAT/OBESE/ OVERWEIGHT, person and said "Is this cellulite?", "Is this back fat?",
"Is this a pooch". Do I have what you have?" WOULD I BE WRONG....lol.
Yeah it has happen to me and I look at them clueless and tell them to ASK A DOCTOR.

I agree with you to an extent, Carl. I hear about people who clearly have vitiligo go into a derm's office, only for the derm to tell them its a type of fungus. It doesn't happen very often, but enough for one to raise an eyebrow. What a terrible mis-diagnosis.Makes no sense and shows that they don't know what they're talking about. Im personally not qualified to diagnose a single thing, but i know i can diagnose vitiligo better than some derms.
