Islands of repigmenting

It's been interesting this year. I have noticed small, but nevertheless, noticeable, small 'islands' of repigmentation on my hands. Some white areas have filled in and there has been some freckling.

I guess it demonstrates that Vit is reversable.

I don't use any meds or creams - just sunlight and sunblock.

  • I am going through the same thing now, i too only use sunlight and sunblock, i jus went to the doctor for the first time on monday since having the disorder for 16 years, the doctor when she saw the freckling and how some white patches were pink, she told me that that was good, cause it shows that the cells are still alive and you still have pigment there, she said the sun is great for us because it stimulates the skin, she prescribed the protopic and told me to take advantage now while its summer and the sun is out because well once winter hits the cream prob wont work and then she will go into uvb lighting therapy, she seemed to know all the in and out of the insurance company being that they dont want to cover anything because they consider vitiligo a "cosmetic condition" wtf??? well anyhow i am confident she knows what she is talking about, will keep you posted <3 Niki
  • Good to hear Mike I am soooo happy for you!
  • That's great news! My fiance has some Vit, not much. He had a spot by his eye and it repigmented because he kept refusing to wear any sun block. It kept burning and it finally repigmented itself. I don't really recommend this because it's like a recipe for skin cancer, but I do think that the sun helps repigment.
  • Congrats, Mike, hope your repigmentation continues!

Do you do anything in particular to keep your stress level down?
