I have two tattoos. The one on my shoulder was tatted on brown skin and now it white. The one on my foot was done on my vitiligo (white foot). And it looks fine. Even when my shoulder turned white, the tat was fine.
I see this question so many times on this forum, and im always the only one to answer it. okay here it goes:
Tattooing on vitiligo affected skin is safe. Some dermatologists will try to convince you that it isn't. Don't listen, because there has never been any conclusive study's to indicate that it's not safe. The thing is, when tattoing over lighter shades of skin, the colours will be brighter than on darker areas of skin. Your tattoo artist should know this. He/she will use the appropriate colours on the appropriate areas.
ex. If you have a vitiigo patch that you're tattooing, but there's still fully pigmented skin around it and the tattoo overlaps both shades of skin, Darker colours should be used on the vitiligo and lighter colours on the pigmented skin. Your artist should take at least 20 minutes just playing with colours to find the best ones for you before tattooing.
print this response and take it to your artist. I have vitiligo, many tattoos and friends who work at tattoo parlours, so im experienced in this field :) Just dont ask me to tattoo you. LOL
