When I was first diagnosed with vitiligo in 1983 at the age of 19 I asked myself dear God why me, because at first I really didn't know that much about it because I have seen people with it but never knew to much about it and on several occassions I have seen some senior citizens with the disorder but never asked or questioned them about it. I even had a person who worked in my Jr. High School with it but I never questioned or asked him either because this was of course before my own vitiligo started. Vitiligo is so mysterious because it will make you question God and that's something we should never do, because God makes no mistakes he just does things that are beyond our comprehension. I admit I never really knew too much about Vitiligo but after getting it myself I have done so much research on it and I probably wouldn't of had any concern about it if I didn't have it myself but now that I have been dealing with it for almost 30 years now I have learned to accept it because I love myself too much to worry about what others may or may not feel about it acceptance is the first key in loving yourself and once you love yourself you will feel much better about your Vitiligo because there are times when I almost forget I have it because you just get so used to living your life with it I refuse to wear any cosmetic creams, etc. to hide my Vitiligo because why should I hide to fit in with people who can't accept me for me I just don't need to be around people like and I prefer to stay away from them, Yes I have Vitiligo so accept me for me or just move on because life is just to short are you going to be worrying about your Vitiligo 100 years from now no your not because your going to be dead just like me so why worry about what you can't control........LOL !!!

  • Nice one Carl......

Really why worry about what you cant control?

    Self Acceptance is Key!
    • Ogo I try to tell people all the time that Self Acceptance is the Key to Dealing with Vitiligo but for some people it's hard to deal with it because they can't accept it. But life does go on despite having Vitiligo !!!!

  • Thanks for sharing that!
